Nice to meet you!
UX/UI designer with 15+ years in design, the last 7 at AAA designing member experiences for millions of users.
Most designers end up on one side of a line. There are the ones who read funnels and run tests, and the ones who can draw. I never picked, and it turned out to be the useful part.
A login redesign cut credential-recovery clicks by 60%. That was structure. But a ZIP code modal on the same site had a different problem. Users said it felt like spam, and no amount of restructuring fixes that. It needed artwork. So I drew it, animated it, and the complaints stopped.
I do the unglamorous half too. Accessibility audits, QA, contrast and keyboard checks, and the spec reviews that catch what changed between design and build.
AI is part of how I work now, not a separate skill. I use ChatGPT for copy, drafting and tightening the language that goes into a design. For the design work itself, I use Claude with AAA's design system to build fast, functioning prototypes before handoff to the dev team, so engineering sees something they can actually click through instead of static comps. I've also worked with Claude moving designs between Figma and code in both directions.
Some problems are structural. Some are emotional. Telling them apart is most of the job.
